Masterflex prepare for important visitors

This week we have had 2 members of the senior management team visit Masterflex UK.

Ole Stein – Managing Director of Sales for Europe and Anthony Quinn – Director of Group Marketing came to our manufacturing plant in Oldham to discuss group improvements.

Both Ole and Anthony are based at the Masterflex SE head office in Gelsenkirchen, Germany, and this was Anthony’s first visit to the UK plant.

 Masterflex have offices and manufacturing facilities throughout Europe, America and Asia that specialise in producing Hoses and Ductings to the highest standard.

Masterflex visits W14

Masterflex have just returned after exhibiting with a large display of companies from the furniture, joinery and woodworking industry, all under one roof at W14  – N E C, Birmingham.

Exhibitors had the opportunity to showcase their machinery, materials and components, with the aim of raising awareness of their company, meeting potential customers and developing lasting relationships.

Masterflex staff (Colin, Gareth and Hayley) had time away from the office to speak to visitors and promote the company and the products from their stand.

Business cards and product guides were given out in order to promote our range of flexible hose and ductings designed for the woodworking industry.

Great interest was shown in our Flamex range and we look forward to receiving many orders.

Masterflex visits Interplas and PPMA 2014

On Wednesday, 1st October, Masterflex visited the NEC in Birmingham, which was home to a large variety of demonstrations and exhibitors.

Masterflex were particularly interested in the Interplas and PPMA shows, as these are aimed specifically at the Plastics Industry.

Interplas covers all aspects of manufacturing processes, new technologies and services essential to the plastics sector and PPMA brings together manufacturers from the packaging industry.

Masterflex creates a large selection of hoses specifically designed for these industries, whether it be polyurethane hose for the conveying of plastic pellets or high temperature ductings for heaters.

The most common products are our Master PUR  range and our Master Sil range.

Important Event for Masterflex

Here at Masterflex, we are getting ready for the W14 exhibition, specially created for the Furniture and Joinery sectors.

W14 is one of the UK’s largest trade exhibitions, covering three large halls at the NEC, Birmingham and held for 4 days every two years.

As a UK manufacturer and major supplier of flexible ductings to the UK woodworking industry, we will be exhibiting our Flamex range which is designed for sawdust extraction applications.

Our polyurethane hoses incorporate steel wire helix reinforcement and are hardly inflammable according to DIN4102-B1.

Masterflex and Acro come together for Charity

Masterflex have teamed up with Arco/ HD & F in order to raise money for the Penny Brohn Cancer Care.

The Penny Brohn Cancer Care, in Bristol provides service and support to people affected by cancer.

This year Arco have challenged 6 members of their staff to pedal from their head office in Hull to Paris in 4 days.

Distance per day included

Day 1 – 138.1 miles, 1,231 ft elevation

Day 2 – 99.8 miles, 2,267 ft elevation

Day 3m – 35.4 miles, 1,651 ft elevation

Day 3a – 34.6 miles, 669 ft elevation

Day 4 – 97.7 miles, 4,534 elevation

Totalling = 405.6 Miles with 10,352ft of elevation

Masterflex at the Races

On Saturday 6th September, members of Masterflex UK experienced a day at Haydock Races in the sunshine.

Members of staff included:

Philip, Darren and Karl from the manufacturing floor,

Hayley and Sandy from the marketing team,

Gareth from the sales department,

Colin the accountant,

Colin the sales manager and David the managing director.

The Betfred Sprint Cup is a yearly event in Masterflex’s calendar which included a 3-course lunch and drinks with the meal.

As the day progressed and the bets were placed, everyone continued to enjoy themselves, even if they left with a win or a loss.

It is now back to normal and we are making sure that the orders are coming in and manufactured on-site to suit customers needs.

Ploughing through…

 Here at Masterflex, we are ploughing through the Agricultural sector, separating the seeders from the slurry’s, tillage from tractors and balers from harvesters.

So far we have had some great feedback but still need your help.

Do you know someone who works within this industry?

Does your friend buy or sell agricultural machinery?

Is your uncle the boss of a company supplying agricultural parts?

Masterflex are particularly interested in the type of hoses that are currently being used and what the main sizes are, especially on the seeding machines.

If you know where the parts are being manufactured that would be greatly appreciated, whether it is in the UK or abroad.

Can you handle the heat….

Here at Masterflex, we are currently enjoying the warm weather that has hit the UK over the last few days.

With every window open and an ice lolly to keep us refreshed, we are able to keep producing Flexible Hose and Ducting for a wide range of industrial applications including extraction of dust and fumes and the conveyance of abrasive media.

Everything we manufacture is mainly used for Woodworking, Plastics, Chemical/Pharmaceutical, Food, Automotive, Military and General Engineering.

Did you know that some hoses are manufactured to withstand high temperatures up to 1100°C?

At the higher end of the temperature range, we create Master Clip 1100, which is used for exhaust fume extraction on large capacity engines, and automotive and aircraft manufacturing.

Medium to high temperature hoses such as Master Sil can be used for gases, plastic industry and waste incinerators. Temperatures can accommodate anything up to 250°C

At the lower end of the scale we make Master Clip Vinyl B which has been designed for air conditioning and ventilation extraction systems.

Masterflex visits the Great Yorkshire Show

On Wednesday 9th July, Masterflex-UK sent Hayley, their newest team member, to the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.

Hayley was tasked with the job of finding out what type of flexible hose and ductings are currently used within the agricultural industry. She visited the show with her pen in her hand looking for answers.

The show grounds were huge, showing the best Horses, Cattle and Sheep from all over the country and competitions were being held throughout the day to judge the best home-made cheese and pies.

As the sun shone above, Hayley headed over to the agricultural machinery section for flexible hoses and ductings.

Interacting with various manufacturers, distributors and end users allowed research to be carried out on products already being used within this industry.

It is clear to see that the agricultural industry is certainly using many different types of flexible hoses, including:

Further research is now needed to see whether parts are imported from the UK or abroad so its back to the office for Hayley.

The agricultural industry gives many opportunities for using high quality hoses and fittings with traditional and new products:
