On Saturday 6th September, members of Masterflex UK experienced a day at Haydock Races in the sunshine.

Members of staff included:

Philip, Darren and Karl from the manufacturing floor,

Hayley and Sandy from the marketing team,

Gareth from the sales department,

Colin the accountant,

Colin the sales manager and David the managing director.

The Betfred Sprint Cup is a yearly event in Masterflex’s calendar which included a 3-course lunch and drinks with the meal.

As the day progressed and the bets were placed, everyone continued to enjoy themselves, even if they left with a win or a loss.

It is now back to normal and we are making sure that the orders are coming in and manufactured on-site to suit customers needs.

Unusual uses for Masterflex Hoses

How creative have you been with Masterflex hoses?

One student visited Masterflex for her college course as she wanted to travel to West Africa with a light weight, durable hose.

She managed to turn Flamex BF into a snake that moved freely, mimicking the movements of a real snake.

The overall aim was to carry out research on the relationship between monkeys and snakes in their natural environment.

Another student transformed a small length of Master PUR L into a robotic fish.

A typical day at Masterflex…

So what is a ‘typical’ day at Masterflex I hear you ask?

Daily orders come in via email, phone call or fax and it is down to 2 lads in the office and 4 men on the shop floor to complete the transactions.

Some days can be quite hectic in the office dealing with quotes, orders and deliveries, but we make sure everything is to the correct specification and dispatched on time.

As a manufacturer we deal with end users, suppliers and distributors, around the UK and further afield. Today, our products are in use throughout various industries, such as Automotive, Construction, Food, Pharmaceutical, Woodworking and Air Conditioning.

Masterflex Technical Hoses Limited can also design and manufacture a hose or ducting to a customers’ specific needs.

Masterflex visits the Great Yorkshire Show

On Wednesday 9th July, Masterflex-UK sent Hayley, their newest team member, to the Great Yorkshire Show in Harrogate.

Hayley was tasked with the job of finding out what type of flexible hose and ductings are currently used within the agricultural industry. She visited the show with her pen in her hand looking for answers.

The show grounds were huge, showing the best Horses, Cattle and Sheep from all over the country and competitions were being held throughout the day to judge the best home-made cheese and pies.

As the sun shone above, Hayley headed over to the agricultural machinery section for flexible hoses and ductings.

Interacting with various manufacturers, distributors and end users allowed research to be carried out on products already being used within this industry.

It is clear to see that the agricultural industry is certainly using many different types of flexible hoses, including:

Further research is now needed to see whether parts are imported from the UK or abroad so its back to the office for Hayley.

Cargoflex (Technical Hose)

Cargoflex is a polyester polyurethane hose, with reinforced with embedded copper coated high tensile steel wire helix.
and a PU thickness = maximum 4.8mm.

With very good flexibility, it is extremely abrasion resistant, has a nearly smooth bore but is heavy duty.
Cargoflex has applications in the transport of gravel, stones, glass wool, aggregates, suitable for quarries, cement works, shipyards and docks where its quality and resilience enable it to meet the highest demands of service life and abrasion resistance

Master-PUR Inline (Technical Hose)

Master-PUR Inline, is a polyester polyurethane hose with a reinforced with embedded copper coated high tensile steel wire helix and a PU liner thickness = maximum 4mm. It has an ultra abrasion resistant 60 Shore liner.
With good flexibility, seamless smooth bore and Extreme abrasion resistance.
It is very heavy duty, with applications in the transportation of gravel,stones and aggregates, within quarries, cement works, shipyards and docks.
